The Chamberlain is a Jacondan who was loyal to his master, Mestor. He was an authoritaian man who served Mestor. When one of the Jacondans tried to steal vegetables from the Royal Hatcheries, the Chamberlain turned him in to Mestor and Mestor killed the porter by embolism. The Chamberlain, after Mestor died, was freed from Mestor and would be afaid to be killed on the other Jacondans.
