Sometimes, the Ood's Hindbrain is removed and replaced with a translation orb. This limit's the Ood's telepathic abilities to Basic 30, also making them not much more than livestock(DW: The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit ). These Oods serve humans, doing manual labor, serving food, and other things.
