The GENIE were a race of small genetically engineered creatures with the power to grant their owner's wishes. After their creation, the creatures became common across the world, causing havoc with reality. It was only when the Doctor prevented their creation by sending the first of their kind away to live in peace that the Earth's future was changed. (TDA: The Stone Rose)
