Ruby Anne White was the cover identity of a Katesh who came to Earth intending too feed off of Sarah Jane Smith. She owned an Artificial intelligence that was named Mr White by Clyde Langer. (SJA: Goodbye, Sarah Jane Smith)

History

"Ruby" was imprisoned by her own race, due to her hunger for excitement being greater then any other, on a prison ship, with only a games console for entertainment. She managed to reprogram the device into an AI to serve her needs, turning the prison into a ship. She went to many planets, draining their inhabitants completely.

When she came to Earth, she posed as a human named Ruby White. She researched Sarah Jane Smith, who led the most exciting life on Earth. She moved into Bannerman Road to house her stomach in a cellar. She used her AI to simulate a meteor and a formidable alien race on two separate occasions so that the Bannerman Road gang would stop them but she would be there to save the day. She befriended Sarah Jane but was secretly draining her life force making Sarah Jane believe she couldn't continue defending Earth. Sarah Jane gave Ruby everything including Mr Smith. Ruby managed to weaken and lock Sarah Jane in Ruby's own "secret cellar" with her stomach as it slowly drained her.

She teleported Clyde Langer to her ship but was tricked by Rani Chandra who with Luke Smith and K9 Mark IV hacked into Mr White and teleported Clyde back and restored Mr Smith to normal. The teenagers ran to find Sarah Jane. Ruby followed them. There, Luke defeated her by using Mr White to simulate meteors falling to Earth on a massive scale, causing all six billion people on the planet to have "thrills" and overloading Ruby's stomach. Ruby was then returned to her prison by a restored Sarah Jane, but vowed revenge on her and the entire planet. (SJA: Goodbye, Sarah Jane Smith)

Behind the Scenes

  • She is often seen wearing red outfits, having a red front door and driving a red car, as "Ruby" is a sort of red stone.
  • As Mr Smith was able to find extensive information regarding the Katesh's cover identity, it can be surmised that there was an actual Ruby White, whose identity was usurped by the Katesh.
  • She is the main villain of a story where the title contains Sarah Jane's name, the main villain in these stories had until then been The Trickster.
