The Vikings where a group of pirates and raiders from Scandinavia who plundered Europe during the middle ages. Being the only widely known representatives of there people, there name became synonymous with the Nordic culture itself. Viking warriors are often portrayed as savages, wearing warrior gear on there bodies and big horned helmets on there heads. Though this is considered a stereotype by most historians; the image of the pagan savage being perpetuated by Christianity. most Nordic people are very clean and well groomed and are known for being a hardy and inventive people, inventing the famous longboat and installing a early form of democracy in there towns and cities.
