For other individuals of the same name, see Davenport (disambiguation).

Davenport was one of the servants, a footman, at the home of Lady Clemency Eddison in 1926. He was having an affair with Lady Eddison's son Roger Curbishley, which by the time of the arrival of the Doctor was clearly well developed, with both men sneaking away for secret rendezvous together. Whether their relationship was sexual is unclear, but it was clearly affectionate, with the two of them evidently spending whatever time they could together. Davenport was able to mix drinks in Roger's favourite style. He was the first of the party to realise that Roger had been killed and expressed despair at this. Donna later expressed her sadness that because of the attitudes of the time, Davenport could not even publicly mourn his lover's death. (DW: The Unicorn and the Wasp)
