Kath McDonnel was the captain of a ship mining a sun for energy minerals. However, both her nd her crew did not know that the "Sun" was infact a living organism screaming in pain. The creature was angry with them for mining into its heart and sent the ship colliding towards its burning surface. McDonnel's husband, , was taken over by the creature, soon followed too by a crew man called , and McDonnel sacrificed herself by opening an airlock and sending both herself and her possesed husband drifting towards the sun.
