Lamy

Lamy was a town that served as a minor transportation hub to the state of New Mexico. During World War II, the seventh Doctor and Ace were forced to travel conventionally, and so took the train from Chicago to Lamy, the closest train station to Los Alamos. From there, they continued on their journey by bus. They left the TARDIS, which had been carried on the train as freight, at Lamy until their business at Los Alamos was concluded. The Doctor felt that Lamy was as close a "parking spot" to Los Alamos as he could risk, without arousing the curiosity of the United States military. (PDA: Atom Bomb Blues)
