Marilyn Monroe (1st June 1926 - 5th August 1962) - originally named Norma Jeane Mortenson, baptized as Norma Jeane Baker - was a model-turned-actress in the early-to-mid 20th century. In 1952, she met the Doctor at a Hollywood party, and he "accidentally" accepted a marriage proposal from her. He tried to avoid it, but ended up leaving the party with her to get married. Marilyn gained the Doctor's phone number during this time, and later attempted to call him, though he denied the legitimacy of the chapel. (DW: A Christmas Carol)
