Bannerman Road
Bannerman Road was a street in Ealing, London. First Sarah Jane Smith and later Maria Jackson and Rani Chandra lived there.
Sarah Jane's house was located at 13 Bannerman Road (SJA: Invasion of the Bane). Maria and her father Alan Jackson, they then sold the house when they moved to America. Rani and her parents Gita and Haresh bought and lived at 36 Bannerman Road. (SJA: The Day of the Clown) Ruby White lived in 46 Bannerman Road. (SJA: Goodbye, Sarah Jane Smith)
Clyde Langer told Santiago Jones that he lived "just down there on the left", indicating with the flick of his head that he likely lived on the same side of the street as Sarah Jane, but to her left, if facing Rani's house. (SJA: Death of the Doctor) Indeed, his speedy pedestrian access to Rani's house when most of the people of Earth were removed by the Red and Yellow Robots suggested he was within just a few yards of her house. (SJA: The Empty Planet) It was possible, however, that Clyde did not always live on Bannerman Road, since Maria offered to walk him to the bus stop at the conclusion of their first adventure together. (SJA: Revenge of the Slitheen)
Behind the scenes
- The real life location for Bannerman Road is Clinton Road in Penarth, Wales. Penarth is a bedroom community a short 5 miles from Cardiff and therefore easily accessible to the The Sarah Jane Adventures production team.
- The house used as 13 Bannerman Road is on the northern corner with Victoria Road (which corners Clinton Road), number 21. Both 36 Bannerman Road and Sarah Jane's houses appear in The Sarah Jane Adventures largely undressed.
