Technical Advisory
For thefirst time in the history of the wiki, we are going to be implementing an actual CSS style sheet. This will allow the site to have a more sophisticated, visually pleasing design than is currently the case. It will standardise many elements of layout and design, so that users may come to expect the same things in the same parts of the wiki.

It is a relatively complex thing to implement, and therefore will take several days or weeks to realise. Please try to have patience with the overall design as it is shaped on the site. There will undoubtedly be "signs of construction" in the days ahead.

You will see a major shift in the design of the wiki within the next 24 hours, followed by more incremental design changes thereafter.

Users wishing a "preview", of sorts, can go to our design laboratory.

Users wishing to comment on the new design may do so two weeks from today at Forum:Comments about the new design. This gives some time for the design to be implemented, and for users to get used to it, before noting the changes they'd like to make.

One aspect of the design that many people will find initially objectionable is likely the background. The background is envisioned as a seasonally changeable picture, with users being able to submit their own designs for quarterly consideration — much in the way that users may now submit quotes to the "Quote of the Week" feature. Don't think for a moment that what you initially see is "the way it's going to be" — although it will likely retain a greyish hue, whatever the picture, due to its semi-transparent background.

Thank you for your indulgence as we strive to make this a more vibrant and unique Wikia experience.
