Bekaran deep-tissue scanner
The Bekaran deep-tissue scanner was a small, rectangular device with a series of lens on a side (TWN: Slow Decay) and a screen the size of a pocket calculator (TWN: Another Life). The Bekaran scanner allowed the user to see internal organs without surgery, with much greater accuracy and definition than an X-ray machine or an MRI scanner. Torchwood Three had several Bekaran scanners, one of which was bought by Toshiko Sato while searching for shoes on eBay. (TWN: Another Life) When studying the team after the incident with the Amok, Owen Harper used the Bekaran scanner. (TWN: Border Princes) He later brought it to Megan Tegg to introduce her to Torchwood. (TWN: Another Life) Owen later used it to remotely examine Marianne Till. (TWN: Slow Decay) When investigating if the zombies found in Cardiff were actually undead humans, Jack Harkness and Ianto Jones used Owen's Bekaran scanner to examine the one they captured.
