IndexPanopticon → Tech note: Image nomenclature
Spoilers are strongly policed here.
If this thread's title doesn't specify it's spoilery, don't bring any up.
The bot is now running on a task to change every single picture on the site to have the following format:
[[file:picname.jpg|...]]
Please do not use the following form any longer:
The actual name of the space on the wiki that houses pictures is file:. image: is redirected to file:, thus creating a teeny tiny bit of lag on the wiki. Multiplied times the thousands of pictures we have, that can add up to a needless, but significant, drain on our resources.

Also, it's much harder to have the bot maintain the database if it has to worry whether the pictures begin with image: or not. Having one consistent word at the beginning of a file name makes it much easier to keep this place tidy. :)

Again, please use file: not image:

Thanks :)
