Hi, thanks for alerting me of the issues.
The admin responsible for the CSS changes is User:CzechOut, I have left a message on his talk page alerting him to the issues you highlighted on my talk page. Thanks for making me aware of this, and CzechOut should be able to address these issues (as the changes were not my work and not in my realm of expertise). Thanks. --Tangerineduel / talk 15:45, May 3, 2011 (UTC)
- No worries, thanks for keeping me updated. I'll check back in a few days! :) --daNASCAT http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb32675/wikia/images/e/e9/WikiaStaff.png (help forum | blog) 16:42, May 3, 2011 (UTC)
- I'd like to echo, about a week too late, Tangerineduel's appreciation for your efforts to help us comply with TOU. More than that, I'd like to apologise for quite unwittingly violating them. I'm very sorry that you had to take the time to make the changes yourself, but I was pulled away from the wiki for a few weeks while I dealt with a family crisis. I completely understand your changes to the java. But I did want to talk about your changes to the CSS.

- One of the key design features I wanted to implement was to have the drop-down navigation menus at the top of the pages to have a little bit of letter-spacing. I worked for some time to find what appeared to me was the precise amount of letter-spacing that the top bar could stand. And with 3px, I wasn't noticing any particular movement of the Random Page and Wiki Activity buttons, in either Firefox or Safari (Mac). Now sure, if you choose to zoom your page view in such a way that you're zooming the text only, you get some "bunching up" of the random/wiki act buttons — but that's true even with your removal of the letter-spacing. You can break any page if you zoom the text in enough. I'd really like to get some letter-spacing back, so that the list heading (e.g., "stories") matches the letter spacing in the drop-down beneath. Isn't there some amount of compromise between no letter-spacing and 3px letter-spacing possible?
- Also, what's the TOU objection to defining the font-size of article text? Is no variation allowed?
- Thanks for getting back to me and, really, it's no problem. We realize our TOU is sometimes a bit complex and that's why we come in and ask you to fix it yourselves instead of just rolling in and bashing things up. TOU is also a back and forth battle at Wikia. We love how users customize things and week after week, we keep looking at how things are working and examining if our policies are fair.
- Letter spacing is fine the way it is now and you can do it in your article space however you want because it's changing how your wiki is presenting information as opposing to changing key elements of how your space functions. --daNASCAT http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb32675/wikia/images/e/e9/WikiaStaff.png (help forum | blog) 20:12, May 12, 2011 (UTC)
