Tractor beam
A tractor beam was a beam of energy projected from a vessel or device which could tether and pull another object. The Doctor's TARDIS had the ability to create a tractor beam (VG: TARDIS). The Doctor used his TARDIS' gravity tractor beam to hold a neutron star still while Erato used his ship to weave a protective shell around it. In the process, it burned out the tractor beam. It had been repaired by his tenth incarnation when he appeared to used it to save the Sanctuary Base 6 Rocket from a black hole. (DW: The Satan Pit)
During the end of the Doctors encounter with a pan-dimensional being, his TARDIS got caught in a tractor beam heading towards Lakertya caused by the Rani. (PDA: Spiral Scratch/DW: Time and the Rani)
The Doctor's TARDIS also had an Anti-gravity spiral that had similar properties to a tractor beam. (DW: Delta and the Bannermen)
