Haroun ed-Din was a resident of Lydda during the Crusades. When he refused to give his daughter Maimuna to El Akir, the Emir burned his house, killed his wife and son and stole Maimuna. Haroun, left only with his other daughter Safiya, swore revenge against El Akir. He met the recently escaped Barbara Wright, told her his story, and introduced her to Safiya. When Barbara was recaptured, he broke into El Akir's palace, stabbed and killed the Emir, and was reunited with his daughter. (DW: The Crusade)

The character's name was spelled Haroun ed Diin in the novelization.
