With reference to the Eleventh Doctor meeting the flesh before, I must admit I haven't rewatched the "New Earth" episode, but I believe there is also a reference to them in S04E09, "Silence in the Library". The databanks which hold the faces of dead people is called "the flesh databanks".

Didn't the doctor encounter the Flesh during "The Poison Sky?"

The patients in New Earth were specifically described as made out of The Flesh, and were dying every day and being created again. They also were able to transmit medicines and antidotes to each other, somehow, suggesting the kind of link employed by the Flesh. Tbug 19:23, July 1, 2011 (UTC)
