Ianto Jones
Ianto Jones was a key member in the administration of Torchwood 1. Following the Battle of Canary Wharf and the Cybermen's use of partially converted Humans as reinforcements, it was this position which allowed him to smuggle the semi-cyberconverted body of his girlfriend Lisa Hallett (torchwood.org.uk., TW: Cyberwoman) to his hometown of Cardiff, where he joined Torchwood 3, the branch of the institute headed by Captain Jack Harkness.
Ianto's job is to provide 'clean-up' following Torchwood operations, amending official records and disposing of evidence. It's likely he used the privileges which accompany such a position to move Lisa, undetected, to the Hub maintain her body on life support until he could find a way of reversing the cyberconversion. Pain at the loss of Lisa haunted Ianto, and his loyalties were sometimes questionable.
