Deptford

Deptford was a London district. In the 16th century, Matt Jobswortham noted it to be "near London", with the proximity obvious by the amount of activity there. Jobswortham accidentally hit Mary Harries with his cart on a street in Deptford. It was widely believed that Christopher Marlowe was stabbed to death in a Deptford tavern. (MA: The Empire of Glass)
