Myths

This is set on the real Titanic from 1912 (it has been explicitally stated that it is NOT the actual Titanic.)

A lot was made of the fact that Astrid is an anagram of Tardis. This however, turned out not to be significant for the story.

Location Filming

St John's Street, Cardiff (by the Queen's Arcade Shopping Centre) Close to where the shop dummies went on a rampage in "Rose". Where the evil Father Christmasses menaced Rose and Micky in the Christmas market in the first Christmas special.

Discontinuity, Plot Holes, Errors

  • Why the humans aboard the Titanic don't recognize Earth, Christmas or even Santa Claus?
Maybe they aren't human, but a near-human species.
  • When the Titanic crashed into the Tardis, it was never explained why.
Yes it was but the explanation was said REALLY fast because it was terrible. The Doctor explains it to Astrid when she cannot believe he is a stowaway. "Got this ship thing, just rebuilding her, left the defences down, bumped into the Titanic"
  • Forklift trucks are fairly easy to exit from the sides in an emergency
