Summary
The Doctor travels to a world of enslaved men ruled by machines. He travels to the past with one of the slave to prevent the machines taking control.

There are references to the Daleks, but since the Doctor never heard of them prior to The Daleks, this adventure must takes place afterwards. The 1st Doctor is said to have travelled alone for a time after dropping Susan back to the 22nd century following the events in The Five Doctors and before returning to fetch Steven.
