John Lumic
John Lumic was a business tycoon and owner of Cybus Industries and the creator of Cybus Cybermen. Born in Great Britain (he called it 'the Homeland'), he advanced the entire planet through inventions such as the EarPod.
Lumic suffered from a terminal illness and used a motorized wheelchair as transport. He had devoted his knowledge and fortune to discover a way to make himself immortal. To this end, he used Cybus Industries' front organisation International Electromatics to collect homeless citizens to use as unwilling test subjects towards this end.
His Cyber factory in London, Battersea Power Station, upgraded the homeless people into Cybermen. He then began his next plan: to upgrade the whole of London.
When Lumic's breathing apparatus was damaged by Crane, Lumic realized that he would soon die and protested with his Cybermen to not upgrade him yet - he would only upgrade when his last breath has been used. However, the Cybermen wouldn't listen and they took control of the situation, led Lumic away and upgraded him into their ultimate leader, the Cyber-Controller.
Soon after, the factory was destroyed and the upgraded Lumic angrily tried to stop the Doctor and his friend's from escaping, climbing up a roap ladder leading up into the Cybus Industries Zeppelin. However, before Lumic could reach them, Pete Tyler used the Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver to cut the ladder and the Cyber Controller fell into the inferno of his factory far below and was destroyed.
