Biography

Early life

June gave birth to her daughter, Jorjie Turner in either 2035 or 2036. (K9TV: Dream-Eaters)

In 2048, she made the decision to replace human law enforcement officers with CCPCs. (K9TV: The Last Precinct)

She was a single mother in 2050. It was implied that Jorjie's father was deceased. (K9TV: The Last Precinct) Until then, Jorjie didn't know she worked for the Department, thinking she had a "boring job in I.T.". (K9TV: Liberation)

Meeting K9 Mark 2

June worked for the Department as the head of the Alien Activity section and supervised Alistair Gryffen's work with a Space-Time Manipulator. After the night of the explosion at the Gryffen Manor, she arrived to question him. She showed him the profile of Stark Reality, who had been arrested on the night of the explosion. Gryffen (who was hiding Starkey) acted oblivious as to Starkey's escape. June showed him a recording of K9 Mark 2 (whom Gryffen was also hiding), saying he was "ugly" and he had a "terrible design". This angered K9, who rose from his hiding place behind June. Gryffen argued about his design to reassure K9, who was pulled down by Starkey before June could notice. She told the Professor to catch and turn over the robot dog to the Department; if he failed or refused his funding for the STM project would be terminated. (K9TV: Regeneration)

When Darius Pike and Starkey were imprisoned in Dauntless Prison while tracking a Jixen warrior, June told the Governor of the prison, Thorne, that they weren't to be harmed. Thorne asserted his authority. June contacted Gryffen, and offered to have Starkey and Darius released in return for K9. Darius was willing, but Starkey refused and they were left to "enjoy" a cell with Mr. Wiffy. When the Jixen ran riot through the prison, Thorne locked himself and June in his office. When she found out K9 was in the prison, she unlocked the door herself. When Darius, Starkey and the aliens were freed by Jorjie, they were stopped by June, who ordered them to return to their cells. The Jixen arrived and a fight ensued.(K9TV: Liberation)

After going clothes shopping with Jorjie she left her to go home. Jorjie didn't receive her calls as she was occupied hunting the Korven with the rest of the team. June was interrupted by Inspector Drake who requested an update on the recent alien activity from her. She declined as she didn't report to him. When Drake asked her about Information-Sharing she replied that it worked on a need to know basis; when she felt he needed to know something she'd share it with him. (K9TV: The Korven)

The K9 Unit

After Drake's publicity stunt failed and Starkey and K9 were thought to be heroes he blamed the incompetence of June's section as she is responsible of monitoring alien activity and K9 was clearly of alien origin. She said she knew his name, that he came through a time-space portal and that Gryffen was currently examining it. When Drake said she was aware of a dangerous alien yet she failed to alert his section, she said she didn't alert him because K9 wasn't dangerous and on the contrary his technology could be of great value to the Department. Drake agreed and decided to have him apprehended and dismantled so he could learn it's secrets. June said his section had no jurisdiction as K9 posed no security threat. Drake consulted Lomax, he replied by saying he would consider the matter, and ordered them in the meantime to keep doing what they're doing. June assumed he now agreed K9 is under her control, Drake simply agreed to keep doing what he's doing. She came to Gryffen's house and told Gryffen to inform her if Drake came looking for K9. Gryffen told her of his encounter with Ahab and that the kids are hiding K9. She asked him to have Jorjie come home with her, he said he didn't know where she was as they agreed he wouldn't be told so he wouldn't reveal their location even under pressure. She was shocked that her daughter was with a dissident, a petty thief and a suspected murderer and also fearful of what could happen if she was caught in a battle between Ahab and K9. When she found out they were in the sewers she decided to go down there and look but was contacted by Drake who told her that Ahab betrayed him and took K9 and the kids to Gryffen's house. He explained he had an arrangement with Ahab which would have gave the Department access to K9's technology. She decided from now on all matters concerning K9 would be handled by her section and she couldn't afford for Drake to keep doing what he's doing. She arrived at Gryffen's house after they defeated Ahab, saying that K9 is under the control of the Department. Her section and not security, she gave Gryffen responsibility of K9 and made K9 and the team the Official "K9 Unit". (K9TV: The Bounty Hunter)

June was shocked to find that Jorjie threw a stone at a CCPC, she confronted her about this in her bedroom. She was even more shocked that she was complaining of a headache after nearly getting killed. Jorjie said the CCPC was using a strange weapon, June had no idea why Jorjie did it, why someone who had all the freedom they could possibly have do such a thing. Jorjie said she wasn't rebelling against anything, she was rebelling against the right to rebel. When June suspected Starkey, Jorjie said she could think for herself and the CCPCs don't arrest for that, yet. She said she was just bored as it was a Sunday, June warned that she should have a better explanation once Drake dragged her to juvinile court. June talked to Drake about the weapon, he said it was a submission device called the inhibitor. (K9TV: Sirens of Ceres)

An accident in the STM resulted in Jorjie being sent to 23rd November, 1963. K9 and Starkey were sent to retrieve her. They encountered Darius' great-grandfather, William Pike and saved him from the clutches of Barker, a MI6 agent with a surprising resemblence to Thorne, preventing Darius from being erased from history. Gryffen, with June's help, was able to bring them back. (K9TV: The Cambridge Spy)

After disobeying Lomax's orders, June was demoted to Constable, working in the Department Research Division. She was met by Darius, who was sent to inform her of the new threat to Earth posed by a strange phenomenon in the STM. This was shortly before the CCPCs were given new orders that human personnel had no authority, she saved Darius by grabbing a large gun and destroying the two CCPCs threatening them. They then went through the base evading the CCPCs, who were subdjugating all humans, they made their way to Gryffen Manor. They arrived at the STM control panel, soon after, Gryffen, who went to the Millenium Dome, used the STM's voice activated termination code to destroy the Korven invasion force. Darius was able to pull June back just as the STM exploded, saving her life. After they regained concioussness, June thanked Darius what he done. Darius insisted it was just what he does but June told him there was something more to him than that and if the Department survived, she could use someone like him in her ranks. She later witnessed the death of K9 and was delighted to see him return to life again. (K9TV: The Eclipse of the Korven)

Other Information

  • June liked to go clothes shopping with Jorjie, Jorjie thought it was so she could supervise the clothes she bought but June looked on it more as "advising, strongly advising". (K9TV: The Korven)

Personality

As a member of the Department, June was a staunch believer in obeying the law, although she chose to disobey a law she felt was wrong or unjust. She was of high moral character despised the immoral actions of Drake, Thorne and Lomax. She believed that the imprisoning aliens in the Dauntless Prison was right for the future, safeguarding the world's children's children (K9TV: Liberation) although she did meet more peaceful aliens such as the Medes, whom she released from their harsh treatment, (K9TV: Alien Avatar) and Yssaringintinka. (K9TV: Lost Library of Ukko) She was often quite strict with her daughter, much to Jorjie's annoyance, but this was out of love and concern rather than malice; June admitted at one point she would never stop worrying, and she revealed to Drake that she had stayed in the Department to prevent his world from ever existing. (K9TV: Black Hunger)
