The Speaking Clock service was a recorded or simulated human voice service, usually accessed by telephone, that gave the correct time. When Dalek Thay encountered the Cybermen, Mickey Smith compared this to Stephen Hawking meeting the Speaking Clock. (DW: Doomsday)
