Gansu was the brother of Chan Chiu and the father of Li.

Unlike his brother and son, Gansu had never encountered the Doctor but knew that aliens existed. He began investigating the many disapearances that were connected to the legendary Stone Monkey. As his brother Chan Chiu decided not to get involved in defendingChina against The Stone Monkey, Gansu went to fight alone and was kidnapped by warriors working under the command of the Stone Monkey.
