Screamers! (comic story) was a Doctor Who Adventures comic strip published in 2011.

Summary

Inside a castle prison on the planet Argone, Professor Piritus Eglon‘s genetic experiments finally manage to splice together human and alien cells. As he declares his own genius the Professor is shocked to find a hand burst through one of the tanks in his laboratory. The TARDIS, instead of taking its passengers to Blackpool, arrives in the laboratory where the Eleventh Doctor, Amy Pond and Rory Williams find the Professors’ dead body surrounded by glass tanks full of head and arm combos in fluid suspension. As Amy gets close one of the tanks shatters and a head and arm creature breaks out releasing a scream that renders Rory unconscious. Assuring Amy that Rory will be ok the Doctor gives chase as the ‘Screamer’ takes off. Finally catching up with it the Doctor finds a room full of Screamers which he manages to trap by locking the door using his sonic screwdriver. Returning to Amy and Rory who have found the Professors notes the Doctor learns that Eglon was imprisoned for scientific crimes on Argnan where he continued his work and found a way of combining human and Argonian DNA to form quolonic DNA. The Argones where capable of surviving without food, water, air or even a body! The Doctor discovers a cloning computer which he presumes enabled the first Screamer to duplicate itself. As he studies the equipment the Screamers have broken out of their room began to attack but the Doctor acts swiftly and “reversing the frequency” of the Screamers stub scream, turns it against them and they knock themselves out. While the Screamers are unconscious the Doctor calls the planet’s authorities requesting that they seal the Screamers in the castle and ensure that they never be allowed to escape.
