Forum:Ravalox or Ravolox?
If this thread's title doesn't specify it's spoilery, don't bring any up.
I see a large number of cases where the planet Ravolox is alternately spelled Ravalox... even in the article itself. Do we have any significant proof of one over the other? Perhaps in the promo material, or the script, plus the novelisation.
If (as I suspect) both spellings have been used in official material, then a proper comment needs to be made in the article. But I'd like to confirm that first. -- Gousha talk to me 02:32, December 14, 2011 (UTC)
- The article name is Ravolox. That's the correct spelling. Boblipton talk to me 12:53, December 14, 2011 (UTC)
By what source? -- Gousha talk to me 18:12, December 14, 2011 (UTC)
By the determination of the wiki. The name of the article is the correct spelling. Anything below it may be a typo. Boblipton talk to me 02:46, December 15, 2011 (UTC)
- Except the wikia can't detemine it without a source. It hasn't been determined yet, hence the different spellings. Tardis1963 talk 03:02, December 15, 2011 (UTC)
- I think what Bob means by "the determination of the wiki" is this:
- It has generally been accepted that novelisations can be used for correct spelling, but that they are secondary sources. This means that if any original narrative -- be it TV, comic, novel whatever -- offers a spelling or fact that differs from the novelisation, the novelisation "loses". As far as I know, no primary source contradicts the Target book, so Ravolox it is.
