A language monitor was an Equinan language translator. Worn about the neck, it offered bi-directional translation for the wearer and his conversational partners. Spacemaster Roppy once used a language monitor to talk with the Fourth Doctor and Sarah-Jane Smith. (TVC: The Wreckers)
