Capsule-like-necklaces functioned as a portable Inducer which when opened 'seeds' humans which allowed the birth of infant Adipose to happen.

The Doctor managed to attached two necklaces to his Inducer to cancel out Matron Cofelia's Inducer. (DW: Partners in Crime)
