Pteranodons are Prehistoric Earth pterodactyls that resemble gant lizard-like bats.
Myfanwy, (The Torchwood Pteranodon was the only survivor of their race, seeing as it came through the Cardiff rift, a few thousand years before the Cybercontrollers ship crashed into prehistoric Earth, killing of most of its inhabitants. Myfanwy survived with [Torchwood 3]] and became their mascot and pet.
