Benjamin Franklin was an American scientist and statesman from Earth during the 18th century who discovered static electricity. The Tenth Doctor once claimed to have met Franklin and worked with him the night he discovered static electricity. He also claimed that he got rope burns from his kite, soaked and then electrocuted.
