Henry Lincoln (born 1930) and Mervyn Haisman wrote "The Abominable Snowmen" and "The Web of Fear". They stopped writing for Doctor Who after a disagreement with the BBC over who owned the comic-strip rights to characters and races they created.

With Haisman, he created the character of Brigadier (then Colonel) Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart.

Away from Doctor Who, Henry Lincoln is best known for his non-fiction book The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail which provided the inspiration for the popular Dan Brown novel The Da Vinci Code.
