Angelo (Measure for Measure character)

Angelo was a character in a play by William Shakespeare.

Isabella was the object of his "obsessive lust" and consequently had to be "sweet, perfect and virtuous". It was this rationale which Cleo Proctor's lecturer used to suggest that she might not be suitable for the role of Isabella for her end-of-year showcase, recommending one of Shakespeare's comedy roles for her instead.
