Annie Frederick was a publicist for the BBC during the 2005 revival of Doctor Who.

When an earlier version of TV: Rose was infamously leaked, Annie Frederick acted as a spokesperson for the BBC, telling Wired in an email that the leaked episode was not a publicity stunt, but a major breach of copyright.[1]

She was credited with being a publicist for the first version of the Doctor Who website.[2]

Frederick was thanked in the 2005 documentary Designing Doctor Who.

A character called Annie Frederick was a prominent character on the U.N.I.T. tie-in website, who seemed to bear similarities to the real world Frederick; both, for example, were involved with publicity. Annie Frederick of the DWU was probably created in homage to the real Frederick, or was a self-insert by Frederick herself. Other BBC employees, such as Michelle Osborn and Claire Jones, seemingly had thier own DWU counterparts, M Osborne and C Jones respectively.
