This ambition precipitated the Pacific War, as the Japanese Empire fought campaigns Manchuria, China, (PROSE: The Shadow of Weng-Chiang, Log 384) Pearl Harbor, (PROSE: Only Connect) the Philippines (PROSE: Happily Ever After Is a High-Risk Strategy) Singapore (AUDIO: The Forsaken) and other Pacific Islands. The Co-Prosperity Sphere was ultimately never realised, as Japan surrendered to the Allies in 1945. (PROSE: Endgame, Log 384)

In a parallel Earth later ravaged by the Inferno Project, where World War II never happened, the Asian Co-Prosperity Sphere was successfully established. It represented Asia collectively as a member of the Conclave, a super cabinet designed to ensure world peace which was composed of the leaders of the planet's five continents. In one of the Known Worlds, Germania V, Japan similarly achieved Asian dominance after the United States of America maintained its neutrality in the war. (PROSE: Warlords of Utopia)
