Bo Didley was a human musician. In 1954, he recorded the song "Mona" in a studio in Chicago. In 2007, Ace heard a United Nations armed forces radio station broadcast this recording, reminding her of the time she first had heard it years before. In the real world, the musician's last name is spelled "Diddley" instead of "Didley", as it's spelled in the novel.
