Ed Bazalgette directed several stories for Doctor Who and its spin-off Class.

Bazalgette began his directorial career with a number of documentaries and docudramas, including Hannibal starring Alexander Siddig. Other popular drama series he has directed for include EastEnders, Holby City, and Poldark.

Since working on Doctor Who, Bazalgette has also directed episodes of The Last Kingdom and The Witcher.

Prior to directing, Bazalgette was a member of the pop group The Vapors, best known for their single "Turning Japanese" which featured in the soundtrack for the John Hughes' film Sixteen Candles.

Bazalgette's name is referenced within Class, as one of the names - E. S. Bazegett - on the Coal Hill School Roll of Honours Board. This was an in-joke by the members of the art department.
