Fumifugium (book)

Zara once read a book entitled Fumifugium, published in London 1661, which analysed the effect of air pollution and smog on civilisation, while solving the mystery of the Fog that surrounded Compton in 1912. (AUDIO: The Fog)

Behind the scenes

• The book entitled Fumifugium, or The inconveniencie of the aer and smoak of London dissipated together with some remedies humbly proposed by J.E. esq. to His Sacred Majestie, and to the Parliament now assembled, is a real book published by John Evelyn in London 1661.
• The name of the book was taken and given to the alien race who worsened the Great Smog of London, in AUDIO: The Creeping Death. This is due to this species being a contributing cause to the event.
