Joey the Clown
Joey the Clown was one of the deadly pawns used by the Celestial Toymaker against Steven Taylor and Dodo Chaplet when they were trapped in his realm. When not in a contest, Joey stayed in doll form. He appeared to be mute and used an old-fashioned motor horn to attract attention or to startle people.
Joey and Clara played blind man's buff with Steven and Dodo. Joey and Clara attempted to cheat by having Joey wear a see thru blindfold on his turn so he could easily run the course. Joey also tried to sabotage Steven on his go. Eventually the clowns lost and returned to doll form. Joey the Clown's face appeared on a piece of metalwork hanging as a sign from Mr Emporium. His face also appeared on the upper left corner of the Toymaker's stage during his performance for the Fourteenth Doctor and Donna Noble. (TV: The Giggle [+]Loading...["The Giggle (TV story)"])

- Bearing in mind that Cyril, the Knave of Hearts and the Kitchen Boy were all the same person, this may have been the case with Joey the Clown, the King of Hearts and Sergeant Rugg. However, this was never confirmed on-screen.
- The physical set of cards made for the Toymaker's cards in The Giggle [+]Loading...["The Giggle (TV story)"] included Joey the Clown's face on one of the joker cards.[1]
