Pacifism was the term used to describe the beliefs of anyone who opposed wars and the use of violence. Anyone who took this choice of life was known as a pacifist.

The Seventh Doctor once described it as a "noble ideal". The Thirteenth Doctor identified as a pacifist, as did Noor Inayat Khan, a British spy operating in Nazi-occupied Paris in World War II. As such, Noor did not carry a gun or a cyanide pill, only her radio equipment.
