In-Universe articles[[edit] | [edit source]]
An in-universe article is an article that is associated with anything form the Doctor Who universe. This is anything from The Doctor to Cats to Gallifrey to Trampolines.
These articles should be written in past tense.
Out-of-universe articles[[edit] | [edit source]]
An Out-of-universe article is any article concerning the real world. This would be all the different kind of stories, the actors, crew, writer and behind the scenes people.
These articles are generally written in the present tense.
Stubs[[edit] | [edit source]]
There are many different types of Stubs on this wiki. A list of them can be found here.
A stub is added to a page by a User who feels the page they are reading lacks information. They would then go to edit the page and add {{Whatever kind of stub here}}. With the stub tag in place, it will altered other Users that more information is needed on the page.
Page protection[[edit] | [edit source]]
There are two different kinds of protection an article can have. They can be semi-protected, in which case unregistered Users and new Users cannot edit them. This is usually done with high traffic pages, such the the current Doctor and the latest companions.
Pages can also be fully protected, sometimes called locked. This means that only administrators can edit the page This only done on pages where they have been edit wars. Most of the pages beginning with Tardis:, such as Tardis:Manual of Style or T:NO WARS are locked, to prevent vandalism and unlawful change.
Spoilers[[edit] | [edit source]]
Any information regarding an story yet to be released are considered spoilers. This can be television stories, audio stories, books etc. Spoilers are not permitted in our in-Universe pages, until the story is released.
Spoilers can be added to the Out-of-Universe articles, but should primarily be added to the Series page. For example, if you had a spoiler about the Doctor concerning an episode in series 6, you would need to add it to the Series 6 page.
All spoilers should be sourced.
Categories[[edit] | [edit source]]
Categories are a way of keeping all pages that are related to each other together. This could such things as Humans, Category:Time Lords, Category:Dalek allies, Category:Doctor Who guest actors, Category:Actors interviewed on Torchwood Declassified.
To add a category, you can simply click on the "Add Category" button at the bottom of the page. Start typing the category you want and selected it when it appears under your text. Press enter sand then save.
- Note: New categories does not appear until after a period of time.
- Note: If it worth a few moments of your time to make sure you've add the correct category and not made a new one by mistake, since both current and non existent categories appear in the same colour. Simply click the category named once you saved it to do this.
Also be ware of subcategories, such as Category:Humans is a sub category of Category:Human parents. Don't not add a category to a page when it exists as a sub category of a current category on that page.
If you are not sure what category to add to a new or existing or non categorised page, simply put your "best guest" with an existing category. It will be highly likely it will be corrected and put into a more appropriate category in the near future.
