- In addition to the "spotter's list" of the Doctor, Amy, Rory, and the TARDIS, readers can also find various other characters and species hidden within the illustrations.
- The 2014 edition features five additional scenes, as well as Clara Oswald as a "tricky spot" who has been added to the Victorian London illustration.
- The book features a minor backstory for its illustrations in which the "boundaries of time are blurring" wherever the TARDIS lands, resulting in individuals appearing where they do not belong.
