Meet Death's Head was the title given on the cover of The Marvel Bumper Comic issue 5 to a one-page comic promoting the 1988 Death's Head comic series. The story featured a single page from COMIC: Death's Head Revisited with caption boxes describing the previous events in Death's Head's life from his perspective.
Because of this format, the comic was the only story to feature licensed references to both Doctor Who elements and details from The Transformers comic series.
Publisher's summary[[edit] | [edit source]]
Death's Head: No headcount too high, no paycheque too big, pray he's not looking for you. All you ever wanted to know about this cold customer, yes?
Characters[[edit] | [edit source]]
Worldbuilding[[edit] | [edit source]]
- Death's Head has been paid to write an introduction to himself. He has "racked [his] memory circuits" for the high spots of his life.
- Death's Head considers himself a Freelance Peacekeeping Agent.
- Death's Head recalls when he went after the mechanoid Transformer Galvatron, who had traveled back in time into Earth's history.
- He also recalls when he battled and defeated a planet-sized mechanoid on the psychic plane.
Notes[[edit] | [edit source]]
The monologue on this page is clearly written from the perspective of the "current" Death's Head, recapping many of his adventures with various Transformers and the Doctor. However, despite this, the background image depicts Head on Scarvix. This image - taken from Death's Head Revisited - actually depicts Head before his adventures in the "Transformers universe," as the scene in question is a flashback. The most obvious discrepancy is that Head describes having a "new uniform", in spite of the image depicting his original "green" design rather than his blue Marvel variation.
Continuity[[edit] | [edit source]]
- Death's Head considers writing about the "time-traveler, Doctor Who," who "zapped [him] with a Tissue Compression Eliminator, shrinking [him] to human size."
- Head considers writing about the elite commando unit Dragon's Claws, who blew his legs off. He notes he has them back, with a new uniform.
