Jofuku
Jofuku was a character in the Japanese fairy tale The Land of Perpetual Life.
He was a courtier in the court of the Chinese emperor Shin-no-Shiko who disappeared in search of the Elixir of Life. (PROSE: Trace Memory)

Knowing that the emperor sought immortality, Jofuku told the him that he knew the whereabouts of the famous Elixir of Life: it was on Mount Fuji, under the possession of hermits. The emperor told Jofuku to travel to Mount Fuji and bring back a bottle of the elixir. He gave him his best boat, a chest filled with fines jewels and bags of gold to carry out the order.
Jofuku set sail for Mount Fuji, but never returned. Stories were told which said that the hermits on Mount Fuji now worshipped Jofuku as their patron god. (PROSE: Trace Memory)
