Oolon Colluphid

Oolon Colluphid was the author of the book Origins of the Universe, which the Fourth Doctor had in his pocket and used as a way to pass the time while pinned down by fallen rubble. Paging through the book, the Doctor noted "He got it wrong on the first line!" and asked "Why didn't he ask someone who saw it happen?" (TV: Destiny of the Daleks)

Colluphid's other bestseller books included the controversial trilogy of Where God Went Wrong, Some More of God's Greatest Mistakes, and Who is this God Person Anyway?, which was still less controversial than The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. He also wrote Well, That About Wraps It Up For God, which discussed Babel Fish. (NOTCOVERED: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy)

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

Oolon Colluphid was a reference to an alien author initially mentioned in Douglas Adams' radio series The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Adams served as script editor for Destiny of the Daleks and inserted the reference himself.[1]
