Altazar
Professor Altazar was a Draconian and a member of the Eternity Club.
Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]
Early life[[edit] | [edit source]]
Professor Altazar's great-grandfather owned a set of Draconian armour made of Ergon hide. Altazar came to be a part of the Eternity Club. He did not like Bernice Summerfield and was offended by her using a Draconian greeting, which he was surprised to learn that she had learnt from Emperor Jezerak. She hoped that he would warm to her enough that he would show her some Draconian song cylinders. (AUDIO: The Armageddon Chair [+]Loading...["The Armageddon Chair (audio story)"])
Altazar joined Grizella's expedition to the City of Parroon and was, like the other men on the trip, attacked by a psychic echo of Sister Lost. Benny tended to him after hearing his cry and healed him with a dermografter, although she accidentally used the pink skin setting on his wound. Before she had done so, he was prepared to die and asked that he be buried in sand and the Ritual of the Sharpened Star performed. Whilst playing war games with Starll, Altazar began repeatedly saying "rhubarb" without realising thanks to the dark rhubarb which had infected Derek the Tree and was spreading using his telepathic network. This offended Starll and both implored their respective empires to go to war against one another, with Altazar urging the ex-Commissioner of Dralos. Although Benny was able to restore everybody else by curing Derek's infection, Altazar continued to say nothing but "rhubarb" until she shocked him out of it by smashing three of his Draconian miniatures. Altazar attended the birthday party that Benny held for the Suspension of Geren. (AUDIO: The Terrible Shame of a Tree [+]Loading...["The Terrible Shame of a Tree (audio story)"])
Like Grizella and Geren, Altazar neglected to heed Secretary Pym's warning not to overuse the club's solar array, forcing Pym to close the observatory. Altazar was outraged. (AUDIO: Mr Pym Has an Adventure [+]Loading...["Mr Pym Has an Adventure (audio story)"])
Altazar summoned Starll and Grizella to join him, 312 and Geren after they picked up a message from the approaching Liturgy of Death warning of their arrival to acquire somebody. The group argued about which of them was the target and later hid the Oldest from Benny to keep her from handing her over. When the Liturgy arrived, Altazar and Starll met them in reception and Altazar ordered the clockwork butlers to attack when they apparently killed Starll. The butlers were soon defeated, however. Personality[[edit] | [edit source]]
Altazar despised Bernice Summerfield because of her being human, despite their shared interests and stimulating conversations. He threw darts at a picture of her and heavily annotated a copy of Down Among the Dead Men with angry comments. (AUDIO: Rhubarb [+]Loading...["Rhubarb (audio story)"])
