One Hundred and One Floors was the fourth flash fiction in the anthology Build High for Happiness, published by Obverse Books. It was written by Niki Haringsma.
Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]
Mr Hubart visits Mr Quisp, a man with quadriplegia, and cleans his body while telling him a "gorgeous lie" about a string quartet that plays Schubert in the pleasure grotto of Floor 100. After finishing cleaning, Mr Hubart asks if they can "do it", but Mr Quisp turns him down, saying he's too tired. Instead he gives a "pinky promise" to let Mr Hubart "have a taste" the next day in exchange for a story about Floor 101.

- The story's title references the One Thousand and One Nights, which is mirrored in the story: one person telling stories to another, night after night, strung along by the promise of eventually eating him.

- One floor of the Towers includes a pleasure grotto. (PROSE: Paradise Towers)
