Plot[[edit] | [edit source]]

The OOPS team, led by Minerva Caputo, trek across a dying Dawn, a former garden world, looking to save those in need. Following an intro sting, The Noodle Man inserts himself into the narrative as a fifth addition to OOPS, influencing the rest of the team to accept him. He injects large amounts of exposition and backstory from his previous books into the narrative, including his origin story and earlier exploits with the OOPS team.

Minerva leads the team across the wastes, with the Noodle Man aiding them by forming himself into a noodle rope bridge that extends into the horizon, taking a Big Dipper-like star formation and using it as a cosmic ladle to scoop up the stars in the sky, giving this to the parched Jesslyn to drink. The team come across HURRAY, who are tending to a survivor who called for both teams at the same time. Its leader calls the Noodle Man "annoying", "an unnecessary addition to the cast," and "a stupid contrivance", while the members of OOPS defend him. However, the Noodle Man realises that his membership is not helping him sell many copies of Noodle Man Book 1: On the Griddle and he promptly leaves, accompanied by a second intro sting. His former teammates finally realise he had altered their perception to make them accept him, though Theo still craves spaghetti.
