The TV Movie was the first adventure in The Eighth Doctor Sourcebook, adapted from the TV story of the same name.

The story follows the television episode, but the characters may decide to make different choices than those of the Eighth Doctor.

In "The Return of the Master", adventurers may encounter the Master after he has fallen into the Time Vortex. An ability of the Deathworm Morphant might be to project his mind somewhere far from 21st centuryEarth.

In "Van Statten's Worm", Henry van Statten attends the Institute for Technological Advancement and Research's New Year's Eve party and took a sample of the Master's Deathworm Morphant goo. Several years later, his scientists come close to successfully cloning the creature, with the adventurers having to stop the chaos caused by it escaping.

In "Big Trouble in Chinatown", the adventurers must stop the Mandragora Helix from invading San Francisco in Christmas 2000 through a Tong.

  • The name "Deathworm Morphant" is used, which was coined by AUDIO: Mastermind [+]Loading...["Mastermind (audio story)"].
  • "Van Statten's Worm" has a very similar premise to COMIC: The Fallen [+]Loading...["The Fallen (comic story)"].
  • The Eighth Doctor's warning to Chang Lee at the end of the TV Movie is revealed to be in reference to the return of the Mandragora Helix in the early 21st century, something predicted at the end of TV: The Masque of Mandragora [+]Loading...["The Masque of Mandragora (TV story)"].
