I just read MATT SMITH IS LEAVING. Surely not that would bE awful this late into the doctors life an actor cannot just do too a short time they are wasting incarnations left right and centre here. Thank fuck for David Tennant who had the decency to do four years [okay three years plus a couple of specials] if this is a ratings thing I can asure you Beebs no one will be watching if its only two years it won't be like David Tennant what made that a big deal was he had been there for ages now I've practically only just gotten used to it not being David Tennant and the new boy is leaving no way thats shit absoloute shit, when its time for him to regenerate only two years who will care it will be like time and the rani. Also I might add you are not letting Doctor Who get away from under the shadow of David Tennant. Alot of people will be like Doctor Who cannot go on without Tennant its not good anymore if Smith leaves after two years then well they will be right as it will look like they axed him because he wasn't as good. This will kill Doctor Who because with another lead changing so soon no one will watch it will be like whats the point of getting invested in this character he will only be here for a short while then he will leave. Does anyone have any info on this, is this just shite I really hope it is. Winehousefan, 09:45, July 14, 2010 [UTC

  • I assume you got it from the Metro? I'll quote "a friend of his told The Sun", key words being The Sun. Never trust the sun. Matt has said that it's a role you want to keep, so I doubt he'd give it up. If he wanted to try Hollywood then I'm sure he may do something like the 2009 specials so that he has much more time for filming other projects, but I don't think he'll leave. Seriously, I wouldn't listen to the Sun. And the fact that it was a friend who told them makes it much more unlikely, just to stir up some news. If it was someone at the BBC or his agent then possibly, but a friend... nah. Of course, it could be a publicity stunt to see how many people still like it and don't want him to leave. --The Thirteenth Doctor 09:25, July 16, 2010 (UTC)
